JKSSB Cancels JE Exam Amid Paper Leak Allegations; Aspirants Protest
The Junior Engineer (Electrical) exam in J&K was canceled after viral videos and claims of paper leaks triggered outrage among candidates and political parties
The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) canceled the JE (Electrical) exam held on 24 August 2025 following chaos at exam centers, viral videos of mass copying, and allegations of question paper leaks circulating on WhatsApp and Telegram. While the board cited “weather-related issues” for cancellation, aspirants accused authorities of negligence. Protests erupted across Srinagar and Jammu, with political parties—PDP, NC, and People’s Conference—demanding accountability. JKSSB has promised to conduct the exam afresh, but students expressed anger over repeated irregularities undermining their career hopes.
